Dani Alves will be opportune to meet with his former colleagues and also play against them for the first time since he left Barcelona last summer.
Dani Alves played major roles during his days with Barcelona. During his time in Spain, Alves along with his former teammates won 23 titles for over eight season at New Camp with three Champions League trophies and six La Liga titles all for Barcelona.
Dani Alves and Lionel Messi had a smooth relationship during his days in Barcelona. It was in record that Dani Alves provided 42 assists to Lionel Messi, which was more than any that of any other player in the team. For this reason, Lionel Messi rates Dani Alves to be the best right back player in the world.
Dani Alves had a good understanding with his former teammates when ever they were on the pitch but his flamboyant lifestyle was often seen as a lack of professionalism by the club’s hierarchy.
According to his response to FIFA’S official website, Dani Alves believes that Barcelona have missed him greatly as the club has failed to replace him since he left last summer.
The 33-year-old star said:“Barcelona now? It’s strange! I’m sure they miss me!
“I think they appreciated me as a professional, a football player, and as someone who was good to have around the place, who made every game unique, with a new dance or new music or whatever.
“I brought a bit of joy to the dressing room. I’ve spoken to them and they’ve told me that that’s what they miss about me the most: how happy I am and the way I am. They say I’m unique.”
