First Muslim Gay Wedding takes place in the UK. Ukridosblog, learnt that the two men have been together for two years now before tieing the knot.
Jahed Choudhury, who is 24-year-old and Sean Rogan, 19 , celebrated their wedding wearing traditional golden Sherwanis in a civil ceremony at Walsall registry office.
The two first met each other when Choudhury was crying on a bench in Darlaston. According to Choudhury, he said;
“I’d not long overdosed and I was crying on a bench and Sean came over and asked if I was okay.
“Sean gave me hope at my lowest point and has stood by me ever since. Choudhury further said; “an openly-gay Muslim made me feel like something of a black sheep and that I stood out like a sore thumb’ and often felt trapped between his sexuality and faith.
“I tried to deny my orientation and even tried taking medication and completed a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and another to Bangladesh, where my family originates”.
Choudhury revealed that his parents couldn’t attend his wedding because of the shame involved
