Why I Killed My Uncle-22-year-old Lady Confesses. A young lady identified as Tina Rebecca Sunday, has been arrested in Enugu for killing her uncle.

Tina , a native of Ikot Udobang Ukanafon , in Akwa Ibom State, took the life of one Friday Mathew, on 26th October, 2017, at the Independence Layout area of Enugu State.

Ukrido, learnt that Tina, stayed with the deceased at Ezilo Street , Independence Layout, Enugu .

Tina, after the murder of her uncle, attempted to escape but was apprehended by operatives of the New Haven police station in Enugu state.

During interrogation, Tina, described the murder as a mistake. Stating that she accidentally took the life of the 48-year-old man, while struggling to escape his attempted rape.

The young lady revealed how her late uncle has been making several attempt to make love to her

Tina said;

“I have been resisting his amorous advances , but he never gave up , until the matter took a tragic turn around 8 :30 pm on October 26.

“On that fateful night , I had sent Thank- God , my uncle’ s 10 -year – old son on an errand to buy sugar for me , and was lying down in the room , waiting for the boy to return , when my uncle , thinking I was sleeping, snuck up to my bed and tried to force himself on me.”

“As he was trying to rape me, I gave him a kick on his genitals so I could overpowered him, but he got upset and we struggled as he moved to have his way. I then struggled to pickup a stone and smashed on his head so he felt down and next I realised that he has given up his ghost.

“ Really, it was not my intention to kill him as I never intended to do so although he has been disturbing me sexually.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident and said,

“ When the child of the deceased came back and met the lifeless body of his father , he was allegedly warned by the suspect not to shout in order not to attract attention which would lead to her arrest .

“ She ( Tina ) promised the young boy that she would take care of him , then she immediately locked up the house and went away with the boy and dropped him at one of their aunt ’ s place and disappeared .

“ When operatives of the New Haven Division of the Enugu State Command got the report , they swung into action swiftly and were able to arrest the escaping Tina Rebecca Sunday who is now helping the operatives in their investigations, ” Amaraizu said.

According to him , “ The suspect is now regretting her action and begging for forgiveness as she never intended to kill the uncle.”
