Referendum-FCB Players to Withdraw from Training as Barca Join Catalan Strike. Barcelona players have been instructed tostay back at home as the club joins the ongoing countrywide strike to protest the recent mass police violence at the Catalonia referendum.
Ukrido, learnt that players from the senior team to the youth are instructed to stay away from training.
The instruction is due to Sunday’s protest for referendum by Catalans.
The club’s management took to their twitter to write;
“FC Barcelona joins the country-wide strike called for by Table for Democracy and therefore the club will be closed tomorrow.
“None of the professional teams or the youth teams at FC Barcelona will train tomorrow at the Ciutat Esportiva.”
According to Express Sport, not less than 750 people were injured with rubber bullets and baton charges by the police during the protest for referendum.
