The positions of two Catholic cardinals, George Pell and Francisco Javier Errazuriz, have been withdrawn from them today as a result of their involvement in sexual abuse scandals.
The decision which was made public today by a spokesman, has it that both George Pell and Francisco Javier Errazuriz, will no longer take part in the Council of Cardinals, which was set up by Pope himself.
According to BBC, the two were reportedly to have stayed away from last meeting of the group in September this year.
It was reported that Cardinal Pell, is currently facing trial on sexual abuse in Australia, an allegation Pell, denied.
Francisco Javier Errazuriz, who served as a cardinal in Chile, is also facing an allegation of covering up a case of child abuse during his regime as Archbishop of Santiago. An allegation , the former cardinal also denied.
