Most of the news organisations like Time magazine and The Associated Press had to boycott the briefing today base on how it was handled.
White House shocks news organisations with new policy of blocking them from covering press briefing henceforth.With the new development, ukrido.com learnt that White House Correspondents have decided to kick against the new policy of blocking news organisations from covering briefing.
According to CNN, The White House Correspondents Association said:
“The WHCA board is protesting strongly against how today’s gaggle is being handled by the White House.
“We encourage the organizations that were allowed in to share the material with others in the press corps who were not. The board will be discussing this further with White House staff.”
Dean Baquet, the New York Times executive editor expressed his disappointment in the new policy and he wrote:
“Nothing like this has ever happened at the White House in our long history of covering multiple administrations of different parties.
“We strongly protest the exclusion of The New York Times and the other news organizations. Free media access to a transparent government is obviously of crucial national interest.”
Earlier today, President Trump criticised the news media. The President discredited the media at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington. In his expression, President Donald Trump said:
“The press represents the enemy of the people.They are the enemy of the people because they have no sources,” Trump said. “They just make them up when there are none.
