Senator Akpabio Keeps Mum on The Closure of N41Billion Akwa Ibom World Class Hospital. The Senate minority leader and former executive governor of Akwa Ibom State has gone mute over the recent closure of the N41Billion World Class Ibom Specialist Hospital in Uyo, built under his administration.

The multi billion naira specialist hospital was shut down in September, 2017 after a private organisation Cardiocare Medical Services Ltd, who served as the managers, decided to terminate it’s contract with the state government over financial issues.

According to online reports, Premium, tried to reach out to the Senate Minority leader regarding the state of his world class hospital but Senator Akpabio wouldn’t want to speak on the matter.

Premium time finally spoke with the spokeman to the senator, Mr. Anietie Ekong, who said;

“The senator would not want to say anything as regard the closure of the hospital.
“He has finished his job in the state and has moved on. So, whatever happens now is for the state government to handle. The hospital was not his personal property.”

Mr. Anietie added;

“We believe that government is a continuum. Senator Akpabio has finished his bid and has moved on.”

A former aid to the minority leader, however advise management of Cardiocare Ltd, to tell Nigerians their own side of the story.

Mean while Mr. Dominic Ukpong, the Commissioner for Health in Akwa Ibom, claims that the attributed the closure of the hospital to “poor management” on the part of Cardiocare.

When Premium Time tried to reach out to the management of Cardiocare limited, the company decline speaking on the matter.
