INEC Blocks Obi Ezekwesili’s Withdrawal From Presidential Race Come 16th February

The former minister of Education, Dr. Obi Ezekwesili, who

withdrew from participating in the February 16 Presidential race in the early hours of today, has been called back by INEC. INEC, insist that she must stand the election.

In their statement, INEC, explained tang it was acting on the Electoral Act which stipulates that a candidate would only withdraw from the race no less that 45 days to the date of elections.

The former minister , who announced her withdrawal today, was faced with a lot of criticism even from her own party. Both the party and her running mate have decided to join APC to support President Buahri.
