US student Otto Warmbier dies after his release by North Korean government

US student Otto Warmbier dies after his release by North Korean government. Ukridosblog learnt that the student was jailed in North Korea over an offence he committed.

In a statement released by his family on Monday 19th, 2017 revealed that Otto Warmbier, was detained in prison in North Korea for 17 months, after his release, he returned home in coma and on Monday, he finally gave up in a Cincinnati hospital.

It was revealed in the statement that Otto had a serious brain damage and was unable to understand language.

The statements further revealed how authorities in North Korea claimed that Otto had fallen ill with food poisoning and how he took a sleeping tablet but the doctors in the US discovered there was no evidence of such.

According to the statement;

“Unfortunately, the awful torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today.

“Otto Warmier broke down as he was jailed in North Korea.It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home. Surrounded by his loving family, Otto died today at 2.20pm.

“It would be easy at a moment like this to focus on all that we lost – future time that won’t be spent with a warm, engaging, brilliant young man whose curiosity and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds.

“But we choose to focus on the time we were given with this remarkable person.”

The statement further said;

“When Otto returned to Cincinnati late on June 13th he was unable to speak, unable to see and unable to react to verbal commands. He looked very uncomfortable – almost anguished.

“Although we would never hear his voce again, within a day the countenance of his face changed – he was at a peace. He was home and we believed he could sense that.

“We thank everyone around the world who has kept him and our family in their thoughts and prayers. We are at peace and at home too.”
