Nigerian Airforce Officer Sentence To Death For Killing His Girlfriend. Airman Kalu Bernard, was found guilty over the death of his girlfriend Oladipupo, whom he killed on the 12th of March, 2017.
The 21-year-old man took the life of his girlfriend at her Corporal and Below Quarters, Compound 9 at Air Force Base in Makurdi.
Kalu, accused his girlfriend who is also in the Airforce of infidelity and his action led to her death.
The judgment which was delivered by The Judge Advocate, Flight Lieutenant M.A. Umoh, stated the eight-count charges level against Kalu to be “murder, house breaking, impersonation and attempted murder among others.”
Though, counsel to the defence Abimiku Ewuga, pleaded the court to temper justice with mercy, owing to the fact the accused was the breadwinner of his family but the The President of the court, Gp. Capt. Elisha Bindul, insisted the 21-year-old man should be sentence to death by hanging.
The counsel to the defence in response to the court’s ruling, said he would appeal the judgment.
