Jay- Z to become first popular rapper inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame. In his quest for greatness,  Jay-Z has formally been enlisted along with Bruce Springsteen and Marvin Gaye in the hall of fame.

Every year, Artists round the world who have impacted the world,s culture with their music and songwriting are usually selected for induction by Hall of Fame.

In this year’s induction, Jay- Z has been selected to become first popular rapper to be inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame. This is coming barely one month after Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce had announced the expectation of their first twin in few months time. Jay-Z and his family have become a subject of attraction this year.

Previously, great names have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. In the past, the likes of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gayest, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen made the list of those inducted into the Hall of Fame. But out of all these names listed above, no rapper has ever made it to the Hall of Fame.

Jay-Z has succeeded in beating the likes of DMX, Ja-Rule, Eminem, 50-cent, Snoop Dog and others to become the first rapper to be inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Jay-Z’s induction alongside Max Martin will be as part of the 2017 classes of induction by Hall of Fame. ukrido.com also learnt that Max Martin has written great songs for Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift.

According to BBC, those expected to be inducted this year 2017 are Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam. The two have written and produced number one singles for Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and Usher, among many others.

As a songwriter, to be eligible for induction by Hall of Fame, you must have written hit tracks for at least 20 years.

Base on the above requirement,  Jay-Z had to be inducted after he had recently recorded his 20th anniversary of his debut album “Reasonable Doubt” which was released in 1996.

Nile Rodgers, gave some credit to Jay-Z by saying that the super star had changed the way we listen to music.

Others nominated for induction  were George Michael and Madonna but couldn’t make it.
